 Julie’s responsibilities with IMR
include Occupational Therapy Domestic Needs evaluations along with ongoing development and research in the medico legal field. Prior to specialising in the medico legal field, Julie’s work focused on the prevention and management of workplace
injuries.
She has worked in the field of injury prevention as a manual handling coordinator in the health industry where she implemented risk management strategies to overcome workplace hazards. Julie developed a training package for supervisors based on risk management principles. She also has extensive experience in the field of occupational rehabilitation, particularly in the management of musculoskeletal injuries. For a two year period Julie was a senior lecturer in Occupational Therapy at Christ Church College in the United Kingdom. Her research in the area of manual handling has been published in the Musculoskeletal Management Journal.
Julie joined the IMR medico legal team in 2001. She is an accredited Occupational Therapist with 16 years experience. Julie also holds a Masters of Education (Health).
